Autographed Christopher Hitchens Book Just In Time For The Holidays
If you're like us at International Association of Atheists, you feel the massive void Christopher Hitchens has left behind in the movement. His quick wit and razor-sharp intellect remain unparalleled to this day. He did so much to normalize atheism, and his work pulled the world, kicking and screaming to a place where it is now: where atheists in most developed countries feel free to identify as godless.
Our President, Gail Miller, is among the lucky ones who got to see him speak live. In fact, Gail was able to see Hitch talk at one of his last speaking engagements. It was the Texas Freethought Convention in October of 2011, just a couple months before we lost him to cancer. She was even fortunate enough to get his signature in her copy of Hitch-22. Here's what she had to say about it,
"This book was signed by Christopher Hitchens at his last public appearance at the Texas Freethought Convention in October 2011. Although he was very sick, he was very gracious as he signed books and talked with each of us. I can't think of a better way to honour the memory of Christopher other than to auction this book and have the proceeds go to an atheist organization. Especially one like IAA that is committed to helping atheists around the world."
So, that's what we're doing. We're auctioning off Gail's prized book, signed by Hitch himself in his final days. If you're interested in grabbing this invaluable piece of atheist history, click here to send us your bid.
The auction will end on December 4th at 10 am. The highest bidder will be awarded the book and we will send it out to the lucky supporter just in time to give it as a gift to your favourite atheist! All proceeds will go to International Association of Atheists year-end operations costs.
